Silver in our Cloths -- What does that mean?

I have received emails, facebook & twitter comments, or people that just don't understand the concept of using Norwex and the embeded silver.  Some believe that Silver is harmful as a chemical.  Others believe that the Silver can be absorbed into the skin.  Many are not familiar with the use of Silver as an antibacterial agent.  While those that work in hospitals or around medical facilities are familiar with silver for burn centers, it is often surprising how many are unsure about using the Norwex Enviro Cloth for use in the home instead of chemicals.   Using just water with the Norwex Enviro Cloth is so simple and saves so much time & money.  Think of all the Window Cleaner and Paper Towels you are using.  I can't tell you the last time I did purchase Paper Towels!

Going "green" is a phrase that everyone wants to use to protect the environment.  But what about your health and the health of your family.  Be willing to give up your chemical cleansers and protect those you care the most about!

I found that just not purchasing any chemical cleansers was so much easier!  I don't even go down the household cleanser isle any more and with that cleanser "smell" I sure don't miss it!  If you have asthma or breathing problems, you know what I mean.

I thought perhaps this was the best clarification for those not familiar with Norwex products or the use of Silver as an antibacterial agent. --

Silver in our cloths- Norwex has figured out how to embed silver in the cloths, which is what Antibac means. Why would you want silver? Silver is a natural antibacterial agent, which means no virus or bacteria can live when it is in contact with silver, it actually suffocates. Norwex microfiber cloths remove 99.9% of the bacteria from surfaces, resulting in a cleaner, healthier environment.

So, Norwex antibac cloths are essentially self-sanitizing. You can clean the dirtiest thing you can imagine and then rinse the cloth, hang it to dry and by the time it is dry, all the trapped bacteria will be dead. Of course, you still launder the cloths to release everything, but the silver does give you piece of mind.
You may see other microfiber cloths that say they have silver, but what they mean is that their fibers are coated with silver, which will eventually wash away, whereas with the Norwex cloths, they are embedded, so the silver is in there for the life of the cloth.

Norwex uses only micro silver, which is perfectly safe. You may have heard about nano silver, which has had some bad press and may not be safe because it may be absorbed into the skin. Micro silver is much too large of a molecule to do that.

I hope this has helped you understand the benefits of cleaning with Norwex microfiber.  Norwex can help you live the life you want to live.  Norwex will save time & money, improve your family's health by reducing allergies, and preserves the environment for future generations.

Does Norwex Really Work?

I had never heard of Norwex before last year.  My kids called to tell me about an amazing product that would allow me to clean my house using just water and Norwex Microfiber removing 99.9% of the bacteria from surfaces.  No more chemical cleaners and paper towel.  I thought... how is that possible?  Is this a gimmick?

My niece, who was going through Stage IV Breast Cancer, had become seriously ill and unable to breathe without the use of oxygen.  Her daughter had cleaned my niece's house using the household chemical cleaning products she had always used.  When I went to see my niece, she told me she had to go outside while her daughter cleaned her house.  At this point, I thought maybe there is something to Norwex.  Cleaning with just water could certainly help those with breathing difficulties.

My daughter-in-law sent me a Norwex Enviro Cloth to use.  I immediately used it on my granite.  My granite had never looked the way I expected it to look.  It was not shiny.  Shortly after we moved into our house, I requested the granite installers to take a look at my granite and they had told me that it was the stone, it would not look shiny. Maybe a glass cleaner, household chemicals, and sealer would help to improve the look of the granite, after all that is what they used.

When I realized that once the Enviro Cloth removed all the chemical residue from my granite, my granite was streak-free and shiny!  I was sold!  I couldn't wait to try the other Norwex products.

I returned to my niece's house with my Enviro Cloth to clean her house.  This time, she was able to stay in the house while I cleaned.

My story is one that I have heard over and over.  Families with children that have allergies and asthma, can not handle the chemical smells and household cleaners.  Each breath they take becomes harder for them when the household cleaners that we use today contain toxic chemicals.

I became a Norwex consultant because I believe in the products!  Each product that I use, I am amazed at how much cleaner my house stays and how much better it looks.  I have certainly found that I am saving time and money!  In today's economy that is important!

Since using Norwex, I don't have to shop the household cleaners and detergent isle, which is great for me!  When I have customers that say they like the smell of "clean", I can't help but think about my niece that was so thankful to get her house cleaned without using chemicals and just using water.

My goal is to help those with chemical sensitivities understand that there is another way to clean.  Norwex works!  It is not a gimmick and there are scientific studies to back up the products.  It is my goal to continue to share the news of Norwex and help other families become healthier and breathe better!

On a mission to find the perfect mop?

Here are the things you should look for in a mop to make your life easier:

• mop pads are microfiber (contains static electricity to hold dirt)

• mop pads stick to the base easily and keep sticking over time

• mop pads allow for quick and easy for dusting and shining my floors

• mop pads pick up dust bunnies, crumbs, pet and people hair

• mop is easy to manipulate

• easy to clean mop pads

• mop base stays where you put it - doesn't "flip"

• mop handle telescopes in and out for different mopping jobs

The Norwex Superior mop package comes with the aluminum, lightweight telescoping handle (36" to 63"), a mop base and two microfiber mop pads - a yellow dry pad and a blue antibac wet pad. If you are going to purchase a mop package, I would go with a Superior package, large or small.

Whether you get this mop in the small (13") or large size (20"), the mop pads stick to the base extremely well because of the way they attach with heavy velcro strips - a very secure way of fastening. There is even rubber edging on the base to protect walls.

The Norwex dry pad picks up tons of stuff off the floor that you wouldn't even know was there, and it's great at gathering up dust, pet hair and other "floor yuck" - but it doesn't pick up larger items, those still need to be picked up the old fashioned way - manually!

Ease of use: The Norwex Superior wet mop pad is easy to use if you follow the directions. You're supposed to move the mop over your floor in a Figure-8 pattern. If you do this, it moves easily. If you just scrub the mop back and forth, the "grab" in the microfiber can make the mop hard to move because it feels like it's sticking to your floor, and the base can "flip", as happens with other similarly-constructed mop bases.

What's great about the base of this mop is that it has a handy-dandy little flip-down locking mechanism that you lock and unlock with a mere push. If you don't lock it, the base swivels in every direction - handy for getting under your furniture. If you flip the locker down, the base doesn't swivel anymore, making it great for cleaning walls and shower stalls. You can even buy a mop brackets that snap onto your mop base which allows you to hook on an antibac cloth or window cloth.

The Norwex mop system works extremely well on linoleum, tile, hardwood and even laminate flooring - although with any unsealed flooring you need to be extra careful to get all the water up off the surface of the floor. It also makes cleaning large bath stalls, showers, walls and windows a lot easier.

To take care of your microfiber mop pads: Shake the dry pad outside after sweeping, or brush with the Norwex Rubber Static Brush, and re-use to sweep some more!

When the pads need to be cleaned, they can be washed and dried in your machines using any laundry soap although we do recommend the Norwex Ultra Power Plus detergent, not only because it is highly concentrated wand more cost effective, but also because it is more environmentally friendly. Dry your wet and dry mop pads with low-lint items (eg sheets), because the microfiber will grab lint off other things in your dryer if it gets a chance!

Do Not use fabric softener or bleach. Bleach degrades the microfiber, and fabric softener coats the fibers and wrecks their grabbing power.

(Norwex dryer balls let you dry your laundry faster and without static - no fabric softener required!).

Is the Norwex mop worth the price? Most definitely! It's an extremely high-end mop, and it will last for years and years. The cost of $107.99 (for a large) or $87.99 (for a mini) is comparable to the first year's cost to keep stocked in Swiffer floor-dusting and Wet Jet equipment. After the first year, the Norwex mop system doesn't cost you a dime, and you're not throwing Swiffer pads and empty Wet Jet solution containers in the trash to clutter up our landfill space.

Guarantee: The mop pads (and all Norwex microfiber) comes with an unconditional 60 day satisfaction guarantee, and a 2 year performance warranty.

New to Norwex?

If you have never heard of Norwex, you may not be alone.  I have recently been asked what is Norwex and how do you use their products.  Some want to know how long has Norwex been in business.  I decided that the best place to start is with the history and an introduction.

Norwex products originated in Norway in 1994. In Europe, microfiber products have been commonly used in homes, hospitals, schools, hotels and various commercial applications for years. The product line was originally developed for the commercial cleaning industry but a local cleaning company in Norway received a sample of a new cleaning product to use in day to day cleaning.

The ideology was then, as it is now, to produce a more efficient cleaning product where only water needs to be added to the cleaning cloth or mop. This led to the decrease in the use of chemicals and other non-biodegradable detergents.

To maintain a cleaner and healthier environment is still a part of the Norwex philosophy today.

In the Spring of 1999, Norwex expanded into Canada and the United States and experienced great success and growth. The business and product line expanded to include personal care without chemicals.

Norwex can only be purchased from an Independent Norwex Consultant and is typically sold through home/office presentations. Through demonstrations we are able to show how the products are used, how you can save time and money, and protect the environment. For example, an Enviro cloth can remove butter from a window in one swipe leaving the window totally dry and grease-free.  Can your cotton microfiber cloth do that?  What about the bacteria left behind?

Customer product favorites include the Antibacterial Enviro Cloth, the Window Cloth, the Dusting Mitt, the Superior Mop with the Rubber Brush, Antibac Face Pack, the DeScaler (for hard water), the Laundry Detergent, and Dryer Balls.

All the products come with a 60-day money back guarantee and the Microfiber products come with a 2-year warranty and the dryer balls come with a 1-year warranty.

The benefits of cleaning with microfiber is that microfiber cloths are environmentally friendly. Norwex has developed a unique technology that combines an antibacterial silver-based agent with the microfiber. The antibacterial agent is actually embedded inside the tiny microfiber and destroys the bacterium that is picked up in its fibers. They can reduce the consumption of cleaning chemicals in your home up to 90% while reducing your exposure to toxic fumes. This helps those with allergies, asthma and chemical sensitivities. The microfiber cloths also removes 99.9% of the bacteria from surfaces, resulting in a cleaner, healthier environment. Norwex microfiber is a fiber that is 1/100th the size of a strand of human hair, unlike the microfiber that you purchase in other retail stores. The microfiber picks up dirt, grease and moisture leaving a surface clean and dry. The traditional cotton cloth pushes dirt and moisture around, leaving the surface moist and unclean.

The Window cloth allows you to clean windows, mirrors, jewelry and shiny surfaces with water alone. Clean dirty surfaces first with a moist Enviro cloth and then polish with the window cloth for a streak-free shine. On less dirty surfaces, simply spray water on the surface and polish with a dry Window cloth.

You can visit my website at http://www.cleanchemicalfreeus.com/ to learn more about Norwex, shop online, or view the monthly specials.  Review the Scientific Testing Reports, Technical information and the Norwex MSDS sheets to learn more about the science behind Norwex.

I began using Norwex when my granddaughter was born and my children didn’t want to use household chemicals. My kids are so glad that they found Norwex and I was amazed with the product, so much that I started selling it.
